How to cook Bamies,Okra oven stew

On the menu today is Bamies ,Okra stew a summer dish that belongs to the category of ‘’Ladera’’ meaning it is cooked in olive oil. But first things first you need to visit your local farmer's market to get the okras! The smaller the better as they are going to be more tender and the seed is still small.

Ingredients

1 k. okra use the smallest you can find

1 tablespoon kosher

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 cup olive oil

Tomato sauce

1 tablespoon tomato paste diluted with 1 cup water

A pinch of salt and pepper and parsley

1 cup olive oil

1 onion

1  tomato

Method

For this delicious recipe, we start by cutting the top cup of the okras then add salt and vinegar and let them dry in the sun for about 20 minutes which will prevent okras to become slimy. Place your pan over high heat with olive oil add the okras and sauté for 4-5 to seal them. Also, get ready to prepare the tomato sauce that you are going to add. For the tomato sauce, you are going to sauté the onions add the tomato puree diluted with 1 cup water, one chopped tomato, and parsley. Add salt and paper and we are done with the tomato sauce. After that Place both the okras and the tomato sauce on a baking tray and put them in the oven to slowly cook for about 30-40 minutes until the okras are nice and tender. Kali oreksi!
